The quality of education: Whose commitment?

This article is based on the theoretical development of education as the transforming force of individuals and society, presents different interpretations of this issue with the objective of guide the reader to reflect on the role of education. The document is divided into three parts, in the first the theoretical referents are presented in relation to the role of education, in the second part, a discussion about the situations and characteristics of education, in the third part the conclusions are presented , one of them that education is an individual process, but also a social process, which determines the degree of responsibility in each case.
