Scripture provides clear instructions for moral situations such as divorce and remarriage; situations that have also been practiced in an ecclesiological context. It is necessary to go to the Bible, through exegesis in key passages and a bibliographic review, to analyze how the issue of remarriage was specifically handled and in which cases divorce was allowed in both testaments. Thus, when approaching the Old Testament, it is notable that the separation of the couple could only occur when there was death or divorce due to infidelity. However, there are factors that could conflict with orders in the Pentateuch, such as the death of one who commits adultery. On the other hand, in the New Testament the Apostle Paul gives some guidelines addressing these decisions of separation and new marriage practiced since his time, influencing the present.
