Transforming Pastoral Praxis: A Perspective from Participatory Action Research in the Social Context

Throughout this essay, the application of Participatory Action Research (PAR) within pastoral praxis has been critically examined and presented as a viable approach to addressing contemporary challenges in complex social contexts. PAR actively involves local communities in the research process, enhancing the understanding of pastoral care contexts and fostering a more reflective, transformative, and empowering practice. By analyzing real-life examples, this study illustrates how PAR can elevate pastoral work beyond technical aspects, empowering communities to take ownership of their faith and social development. The core argument asserts that PAR transcends immediate societal needs, promoting sustainable, holistic change while reinforcing pastoral practices aligned with theological values.
