The Constitutional Precedent for the Formulation of Public Policy for the Recovery of Public Space

The objective of this research article is to analyze the criteria established by the Municipality of Medellín for the formulation of the public policy for the recovery of public space and how these affect the fundamental right to work, especially of informal vendors who are affected. With the different actions and measures adopted by the municipal authorities. For the above, it is necessary to analyze the position of the Constitutional Court by virtue of its role as the High Court in charge of the protection of fundamental rights such as the right to work and human dignity of all persons residing in Colombia, In In this sense, the Constitutional Court has ruled and established criteria and guidelines for how municipal authorities should act when implementing public policies for the recovery of public space without affecting or ignoring the fundamental right to work of informal vendors.
